Lower Taxes

Lowering taxes is critical for our community to survive.

Dear Future President,

Some nights my father will stay at work very late, working so our family can be happy. Some nights I don’t get to see him because he is concerned about our happiness. Since income taxes are getting higher and higher, my father has to work even more and I get to see him even less. If we could lower taxes, many families as well as mine will be happier and together more. The government unfairly takes our money and uses it without our will. Some people would rather let the government have our money because they do not think that they are smart enough to use it. This is why it is a controversial topic.

Taxes are very harmful to small businesses just like my fathers. According to https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/tax-plan/,”The Trump Plan will lower the business tax rate from 35 percent to 15 percent, and eliminate the corporate alternative minimum tax.” Trump’s idea would be great for small businesses. We need small businesses to stay up and running because they are great for our economy. Businesses create jobs, which this country needs. They also make communities a better place because they can give towns another place to go. They also give goods and services to citizens.

Another aspect of taxation is that the money belongs to the people who earn it. We live in a free country where people can do what they want and aren’t supposed to give their own money against their will. On http://www.freedomworks.org/content/why-shouldn%E2%80%99t-rich-pay-more-taxes Julie Borowski argues, “All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their own labor”. People work hard for their money. Some parents do not even come home to their families every night because they are working. Since when does the government have the right to take all of people’s hard-earned money? I think that we should be taxed some, but not an unnecessary amount.

A final consideration is that people are better with the money then the government is. The people know that it is their money and they will use it more carefully. For example, a normal person would use 600 dollars to feed their family throughout a course of time. The government takes that 600 dollars and would use it to fill up a pot hole or buy a new jack hammer. The government as well as our community would still be fine without all of they money that they receive from taxes.

Some people say that they would prefer higher taxes because they think that it will help the economy. They want the government to be in control of our money so they can use it to fix and improve things through towns and cities. What some of these people do not know is that those taxes that they are willing to pay will not all be going to making the economy a better place, The government uses a lot of the money to pay for things that will not benefit the economy and just benefit themselves.

Eventually, If we keep giving the government all of our money through taxes, we will have lost our businesses, which will lead to losing jobs, which will lead to more unemployed people in this country. Lower taxes are needed in order for this country to become a better place.
