Police Brutality

This is a letter to the president about police brutality.

Police brutality has been going around the United States and it's getting out of control. And it hasn't only been black cops that are doing it it is white cops as well. For example 920 people have been killed by police  in 2015. There have been 258 black people killed in 2016 and there have been 325 white people killed in 2016 ( ibtimes.com). Police have killed more than 100 unarmed black people ( mappingpoliceviolence.org).

Police brutality is getting worse by the second and for every 1,000 people killed by police only one police officer is convicted of a crime. Police are killing blacks at a faster rate than they are killing whites, African Americans, Hispanic, Native Americans and other races. Police forces are only killing 1.45 percent of Asian people (scociology.about.com). According to the (The Washington Post) a black person is killed every 28 hours. Even though some police officers may be nice some of them are always killing poeple because more people are being killed every second, and let's face it there are people dying right now at this very moment.

Police brutality is happening more frequently to black people. Police officers are targeting black people just because they assume and think that they have guns on them at all time. Say there was some man just going out killing people and you found out it was a white person everybody would be shocked wouldn't they? But if they heard a black person was running around killing people then everyone would freak out and get all scared. Police brutality to minorities must stop.

Sincerely,
