Effective Police Force
The police force of the United States is running on an outdated system that wasted money while taking away money from the offices and offers a service that can be more effective.
In the U.S., the police force wastes money that counties and cities would rather keep by only responding to imminent crimes. By doing this officers are wasting money on patrolling areas that don't need extra officers and not having enough patrol cars in that areas that need them the most. In New York, a system was implemented that track the frequency of crimes in an area and where they occurred. This simple system that compiles public information has allowed the police to respond to crimes preemptively. Also, responding small instances of vandalism and other small crimes in communities to prevent the increase of the crime rate; this is called broken window theory and this has been shown time and time again that the theory holds true. Furthermore, increasing an officers pay will increase their performance: a higher pay for any job will increase performance.
