Dear President,

Currently the US has a paid maternity leave for only 2 weeks. Compared to other developed countries, this is nothing. Canada pays women on maternity leave for one whole year and many other European countries already have a good 6 weeks of paid maternity leave. I strongly believe that the US should increase its paid maternity leave to a minimum of 6 weeks. This is because there are many women who need help bringing up and caring their baby and paid maternity leave for 2 weeks is not enough. Currently, the cost for babysitting and childcare is extremely high therefore leaving many women who aren't able to acquire these services. This is a topic that I believe is extremely important and should be taken care of immediately.
