black lives matter

African american lives are ending because of police brutality.

Dear future president,

Imagine a world where no racism existed. It’s hard to imagine because our nation is revolving around racism. If we weren’t so quick to judge on different cultures or skin color then police brutality against different races would not be a problem. More and more african american lives are ending because of untrained police officers who don't get punished for mistakes that make people die and peaceful protests are becoming violent because police officers find peaceful protest “suspicious”.

In Minneapolis, November 2015, Jamar Clark was shot to death and the police shooters weren’t convicted of anything. Which makes me furious because the explanation for the shooting was “Clark looked directly at him and said, “ “I'm ready to die." Schwarze said ” so I pulled the trigger”. So, even if he wanted to die the police officer had no right to kill him because he wasn’t doing anything. The thing that is most unreasonable is that the police officers weren't charged with anything even though they committed a crime.“ "I've represented police officers," he said. "They can be disciplined for very little. There is even a disciplinary procedure for using improper language towards a citizen. In this case they took this young man's life in under 60 seconds. The conclusion is just amazing. They took this man's life without cause.” The Clark family suffered a loss and also a great injustice in their life's .

People have freedoms and when people are protesting for black lives matter they are doing it peacefully it's when the cops come that it gets violent . This is because the cops find them “suspicious”. For example in the U.K. police officers arrested protesters because they looked like they were going to trespass?!! “The police said the protesters were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass, being unlawfully airside and breaching London City Airport bylaws, and were taken into custody. The statement was issued nearly six hours after police were alerted of the protest.”(hume Six hours is a lot of difference and lots could've happened in six hours.

In other situations police officers don't know how to react to the problem they are facing face to face . They react poorly and which results in death of other people. In this case Alfred Olango was shot to death but the man was mentally ill and the police had no idea how to react to him.“Alfred Olango, 38, pulled a vaping device from his pocket and pointed it at police Tuesday before one officer fatally shot him and another discharged a Taser, El Cajon police said.” The question here is Why? Did they shoot him if they hadn't made sure what the weapon was and why??? Did they kill him when the sister called and clearly said “he is mentally ill and unarmed”. (Elliott)So the officers need more training not just physically but also mentally.

If the world would just embrace our different skin color and culture we would all be peaceful. I know it's impossible to be a world where no racism existed because there's always going to be people who are going to hate on your race, gender, or culture but don't let that influence your thoughts. For example certain singers embrace their culture and make the most of it. They even sent money for the black lives matter movement "The 26-year-old singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, donated $250,000 to the organization, according to his representatives. In July, he tweeted his support for Black Lives Matter:” "Enough is enough. it's time to stand up for this. We can either sit and watch, or do something about it. the time is now. #blacklivesmatter."” (singer) Make sure to protest peacefully and train our police officers better and the world will be better not perfect, but better.
