The Heroin Epidemic
Heroin smuggling needs to be stopped.
Dear Future President,
I am writing to you about the heroin epidemic that is happening in our country. This is a very serious problem that needs to be stopped, as soon as possible. If we got rid of this problem we would not have as much crime as we do, we wouldn’t have as much death, and we wouldn’t have as much illegal immigrants.
We would not have as much crime if we didn’t have these drugs. According to the Janesville Gazette, “A Madison man accused of being part of a heroin-smuggling scheme pleaded guilty,” This smuggling scheme could have killed a user of the drug if he wasn’t found guilty. And it could have led to another drug smuggling scheme. The people bringing in these drugs usually are not legal U.S. citizens. This goes back to the man in Madison who was arrested for being part of a drug cartel. He was probably not a legal citizen. “Then the cartels distribute the substances through their vast smuggling networks.” This makes these drugs hard to find because there are so many people involved in the cartels.
These drugs are dangerous, so much as that you could die immediately after using it. “Heroin abuse is associated with serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, spontaneous abortion, collapsed veins,” said the Greenhaven Press. The article also stated that, these drugs “May have additives that do not readily dissolve and result in clogging blood vessels.”
I know that if we put the time, money, and effort into stopping these people that we could do it. We already strip their cars down at the border, and the people too. But this is getting so bad, that parents are even injecting their kids with is drugs, CNN Wire said, “two parents in Tacoma, Washington, who could go to prison for decades after allegedly injecting their three young children with heroin.” This is child abuse, because these children are not asking for this, half of these children aren’t even old enough to speak. This is truly an epidemic and needs to be stopped!
Sincerely,
Mitchel M-M.
