Abortion
Abortion needs to stay legal. Women die from illegal abortions.
Abortion
Abortions should stay legal
Dear Future President:
Hello, my name is Ben Sundermann. Abortions, are legal, but many people think it should be otherwise. The women should have a choice if they should have an abortion or not. Making this illegal would be going against our rights. An illegal abortion will eventually lead to health issues. I believe these should stay legal since this issue is under debate.
An abortion is not terminating a baby, it is terminating a pregnancy. Person hood does not begin before the fetus can survive out of the womb. There are approximately 53 million legal abortions every years in the U.S. An abortion according the the site procon.org, “The debate over whether or not abortion should be a legal option continues to divide Americans long after the US Supreme Court’s 7-2 decision.” This shows that the Supreme Court ruled a 7-2 vote to keep abortion legal but, many want to overturn. The supreme court stated that it is our,”fundamental right” to have an abortion. It is a right to privacy. In 1972, there were 39 illegal abortion deaths. This was before abortions were legal. After legalization, in 1976 there were 2. 2 illegal abortion deaths. Since legalization, fewer women have died to illegal abortions. Women that receive abortions are less likely to suffer from mental health issues. Women who said no to abortions have felt much regret and anger. The fact is that, women that deny abortions will likely become unemployed, a higher unemployment rate, and more people that struggle. If, when you keep abortions legal during your term, less women will suffer from illegal abortions.
These reasons are just few of many why abortions should be legal but, not mandatory. We all have a right to privacy which includes having an abortion. Thank you for reading and try to keep abortions legal while you’re in office.
Sincerely,
Ben Sundermann
