Help The Homeless

The homeless needs help and I think that you will help them. When they can't help them selves then you should help them. Not a lot of people help the homeless. So I ask you, please help the homeless.

Dear Future President,

The homeless is a big issue, many people in the U.S. are suffering being part of the homeless. Most times it isn't their faults. I find it really sad to see people that are homeless, it's not right and they should have a place to be and to live in, they are people to and I’m hoping for your help towards the homeless. Fifty eight percent of homeless shelters are African-Americans, 31% are Latinos, 7% are white, 1% Asian-American, and 3% have an unknown race or ethnicity. These people need help and i'm asking you, Future President if you can help them. I have created a poem, so please help the homeless.

The People In Need

It is sad,

How there are so many,

Like writing a check,

You can’t even spare a penny?

In the recent years,

It's been the highest point,

There have been so many,

Since the Great Depression,

172,625 homeless,

Sitting in the coldness,

Helpless,

In the U.S.A.

People need help,

When they can't help themselves,

It's not their fault,

Why don't you help?

They don't have money,

Because of illnesses or health problems,

We can help each other,

To make all of us better.

Now you've heard me out,

Will you come,

And lend a hand,

To help the homeless with their plans?

This shows they need your help.

Yours Truly,

Kelly Xu

NYC Lab Middle School

Lab students have been painfully subjected to three debates where they searched for policy talk. Four and a half hours later.. Now, our students will have the chance to speak about an issue of importance and possibly make a recommendation for improvement.
