Dear Future President,

There are two sides to abortion; pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life is against abortion and full of legal protection of embryos and fetuses. Pro-choice believes it’s the women’s right to control her own body.

A person who is pro-choice believes that when a young woman is expecting an unplanned child and the woman has no money, horrified and very unprepared should just kill the innocent fetus. First if a woman isn’t financially, physically or emotionally stable enough to have a baby, she should not be having sex. 73 percent of girls who are considering abortion reasoning's are due to them being  unprepared. However these women shouldn’t jump to that conclusion so quickly, there are other ways to handle the situation such as adoption.

About 10 percent of women (6.1 million) in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while according to  Orlando Women’s Clinic in 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed. If those “unwanted” pregnancies were carried out to full term and given up for adoption approximately 19% of the infertile woman would be adopt and become a willing parent.

Abortion is a personal choice but offensive towards God and his creation. The church teaching is clear that abortion is murder without excuses. However an excuse normally used would be “The fetus is just a fetus there is no more to it.” According to the Pro-Life Action League, “at the moment of conception a unique organism comes into existence, since the new organism has DNA and is the offspring of a human life it therefore can only be described as a human life. At conception, the zygote has 23 pairs of chromosomes and approximately 50,000 genes from each parent, which combine to determine all of one's physical characteristics, including sex, facial features, body type, and color of hair, eyes, and skin.” According to Abort73.com “89-92 percent of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation.” Women terminating their pregnancies would just be getting rid of a perfectly healthy baby that was brought on this earth by God for a purpose.
