Racial Profiling Definition: the use of race and/or ethnicity as a ground for suspecting someone has committed an offense Research: The first amendment congress made was freedom of religion, yet there is still racial profiling and serotypes about every race Racial profiling has been around for a long time there has never been an exact time it started and it's always been troublesome problem Many people believe racial profiling began when an african american got pulled over for “Driving While Black” in 1980, However the problem dates way further back centuries ago At its core, racial profiling is about racism and stereotypes and assuming the worst of people based on a biased perception of reality that is then projected and multiplied, affecting and endangering everyone of that same race, ethnicity, nationality or religion. Sometimes it's more than just what you look like, sometimes it can literally be your last name, if you have a ethnic last name, when applying for a job it can affect rather you get a call back or not.
