Taking Advantage of Renewable Energy
Natural oil that we use for energy will one day run out, America needs to start taking advantage of renewable energy. Renewable energy in some cases can replace our use of our natural oil so we can save this natural non replaceable energy for when we do need it. The first thing America should do is start with the gas usage of cars.
Dear Madame/Mr. President:
Hello, my name is Andre I live in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I go to Wheat Ridge High School. Since 1886 we have been polluting the air with the invention of gas powered cars and it’s ruining our atmosphere and causing us in the near future to run out of fossil fuels. This is where renewable energy takes play.
We have the technology to use renewable energy for cars and we already have, though we don't use them as much as we should. We have been using fossil fuel for almost nearly everything ever since the Industrial Revolution started in the mid 1700's. Don't you think we need a change and protect our environment in the United States? As Americans, I think the first step should be with cars because it’s probably what's polluting the air the most and it would be a great start for America since there is about 255 million cars being used right now.
If the world would stop using fossil fuels and maybe just used them for the important aspects of our daily lives or not even use them at all and preserve them for when we really need them. If this happened, then we could have a longer life ratio, pollution would slowly decrease and help our atmosphere in the long run, this also would benefit our air that we breath. How would we do this though is the real question?
As unbelievable as it sounds "the United States is the world's biggest oil consuming country, consuming 18.5 million barrels of oil per day calculated in 2012 which accounts for nearly 20% of the world's total oil consumption per day". With China being the most populated country (at 1,367,485,388 just in 2015), they have the most pollution there as well with carbon dioxide emissions at 10,540,000, just in 2014. I think if we start with our country by getting rid of all cars that use our oil up and cause pollution, replace everyone with a hybrid car running on electricity. Use the money from their old cars to get them the new and planet, safe cars.
This would have an impact on pollution by decreasing it, saving our fossil fuels that we cannot replace and as well as taking advantage of renewable energy.
