College Tuition

College tuition is too expensive.

Dear Future President,

College tuition is way too expensive. I am not saying that it should be free because that would cause many problems for the economy. However, the tuition should be reduced. The average cost of private college tuition today is approximately $32,000 per year, for out-of-state residents at a public college, the average cost is approximately $24,000 per year, and for in-state residents at a public college, the average cost is approximately $9,000 per year. The average yearly cost of college tuition has skyrocketed since the 1990's. Back then, the average yearly cost for private college was approximately $14,000, the average yearly cost for out-of-state residents at a public college was approximately $7,000, and the average yearly cost for in-state residents at a public college was approximately $2,000.

This is unfair to many people. A lot of people in the United States have low income, including my family, and because college tuition is so high, we cannot afford it. All I want is to have an education and go to medical school and become a surgeon, but I can't do that because college tuition is so expensive. My only hope, along with a lot of other people in this country with low income, is to get a full-ride scholarship, which is very hard to do.

In conclusion, I say that we should lower the cost of college tuition to make it more affordable for everyone in this country.
