Abortion: Is It a Crime?
Abortion, one of the biggest debates there is. Not only is it a debate, but it’s also a very important topic; the debating needs to come to an end. Should women be in charge of what they do with their own bodies? Or should they be punished for the murder of an innocent fetus? Well In my opinion abortion is a terrible crime that has yet to be illegal.

Abortion, one of the most biggest debates there is. Not only is it a debate, but it’s also a very important topic; the debating needs to come to an end. Should women be in charge of what they do with their own bodies? Or should they be punished for the murder of a innocent fetus? Well In my opinion abortion is a terrible crime that has yet to be illegal.
In our country we have many problems, one of many is abortion. Abortion is not just a crime - it’s a murder. We punish others for the murder of any other human, so why is it ok for us women to “get rid of” what’s growing inside of us? The innocent fetus is paying the price of murder for our silly mistakes. If you are not ready for a baby, than you are not ready for sex. Every action has a consequence. According to researchers In 2012 there was as many as 13.2 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15-44. The total number and ratio of reported abortions for 2012 to 2016 increased 4%.
Another reason why abortion is not the best choice to make is medical depression. Statistics say women can be at increased risk of suffering from depression. This effect can last at least five years after the abortion takes place. Also women who have had an abortion are also at greater risk of suicide in the years following the event of the abortion. The different types of abortion procedures can have a negative effect on your body. It is completely legal to get an abortion during your first and second trimester; during your third it is illegal in some states to try an get an abortion. Your first and second trimester the procedures that can lead to a negative effect on your body are side effects from the usage of the drug methotrexate, manual vacuum, and aspiration.
Adoption is always a choice. Aborting a child who may or may not be a lovely addition to another family is horrible. Most people feel as if putting a child up for adoption is better than aborting it. For example there was a girl named Hailey, who got pregnant at the age of 15; her boyfriend demanded her to abort the baby. Hailey felt as if putting the baby up for adoption was a better choice. She kept in touch, and the baby is healthy and safe with a loving family.
Some people may feel as if abortion is aborting a fetus, rather than a baby. So just because it does not have fully developed organs yet, they think it is okay. They say, “It’s my body I should have the choice of what to do with my body.” But what about the choice of the baby ? What about giving the baby a choice whether to live or to get yanked right out of the world before even entering it. Abortion Is a debate that has yet to be settled. With your help our country can fix this.
