Gun Violence Needs To Stop Now.

Gun Violence needs to stop in the US because too many people are dying or being injured by guns for no reason.

Dear Next President,

One issue I want to address to the next President of the United States is gun violence. Gun violence has gotten out of control lately, because there have been more shootings in the past couple of years of innocent people. It’s not fair to take someone’s life or injure them because they’re different or that you don’t like them. You do not have the right to kill or injure someone because of his or her sexuality or race.

This situation has gotten so out of control that some people do not feel safe leaving their own home or even being in their own home. 117,000 people are being shot every year. Over 200,000 people kill themselves with guns every year. At the Orlando Nightclub in Florida, a guy named Omar Mateen killed 49 people and injured 58 people on June 12, 2016. At Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, a 20-year-old man named Andy Lanza killed 20 children between the ages of 6-7 as well as 6 adult staff members, on December 14, 2012.

It is just outrageous that there are people out there who are crazy enough to go out and kill people or injure someone with guns all because they thought they’re different or because of their sexuality or race. Please make a law or do something to try and fix this problem about gun violence or there will be more people who are killed or injured for no reason.

Sincerely,

Holly
