Dear next President,
I know you are extremely busy and everything. Thank you for reading my letter. Thank you for taking what I’m writing into consideration. I have to address a serious issue with you. Women’s rights. Women should get paid equal to men if they have the same qualifications.
Now I know you probably hear about this all the time, but that is because it is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Women are being seriously under paid. A male primary-care doctor makes an average of $225,000 a year, while the women with the same job makes an average of $192,000. Women working full time in the United States of America are only being paid 80% as much as men.
I have no idea why this is the way it is, but someone needs to fix it. We shouldn’t have to have a man’s body just to get paid the same amount of money at the same job! Additionally, even after getting paid less, we can’t even get a paid maternity leave. Only certain workers at certain companies get to have a paid leave. Even then they only get 6 weeks.
Women should get paid equally to men if they have the same qualifications. Imagine going to college for 4 years only to find that you have an 80% wage gap all because you are a woman. So here is my solution; I feel that if a man and woman go to the same college, for the same amount of time, with the same degree/qualification they should be paid equally.
