Animal Abuse
Dear Future President, Animal Abuse is a serious issue that needs to be dealt with immediately.
Dear Future President,
I believe that animal abuse should be banned for good in all of the states. Imagine a world with no abuse or cruelty against animals. I believe that animals are just as important as humans, and deserve to be treated equally and appreciated all the same.
I believe that animal cruelty is wrong and that no animal should have to go through abuse.
As president, you should take care of the citizens, environment, and the animals in our country.
For example puppy mills are industrial dog breeders that put more value on profit than the health of their puppies. These dogs are often kept in a dirty, inhumane environment. The dogs are being breed with little recovery time in between litters. The environment in these “kennels’’ include no vet care, little food or water and not letting the dogs socialize with other dogs. According to the ASPCA there could be as many as 10,000 puppy mills in the U.S. I believe that you should think about this issue and as soon as possible address it. There are many other ways that our country abuses animals.
For reference, every year approximately 150,000 American horses are trucked across our borders to be slaughtered. Until this abusive practice is banned in the United States no horse is safe. Horse slaughter is not euthanasia’, meaning: a gentle painless death. Slaughter is a terrifying experience that ends the horse's life
You need to strengthen our animal protection laws. My solution would be greater enforcement of our existing animal welfare laws coupled with an increase in funding at the federal level and the formation of a new department of animal welfare.
As you know, it takes courage to be our president. Animals can’t speak up for themselves, they need a human to speak up for them, sometimes even a president. It’s fair to say that society could be judged on how they treat those who have no voice. Will you be there voice future president? I want you to take action on this issue.
I hope that you make an effort to help protect the animals of the United States.
Sincerely, Miranda
