Dear Future President,

Guns in America are becoming a real problem because too many irresponsible people are killing other people for their own personal reasons. There have been a lot of mass shootings by terrorists and insane people. There is a solution for this gun crisis and it is that guns need to be taken away from unauthorized U.S. citizens.

Even though there haven’t been any tragedies with guns in the past few months, there is always uncertainty if there will be another. The most recent shooting was at a gay club in Orlando, Florida and 49 people died along with 53 others injured. The shooter was Omar Mateen was a security guard but was killed that night by police officers after the shootings..

Mateen’s actions resulted in a terrorist/hate crime and his motivations were that he was angry by the U.S. killing Abu Waheeb who was the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

The weapons used in the attacks were 2 guns. A SIG Sauer MCX semi-automatic rifle and a 9mm Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol. These actions could have been stopped and many lives could have been saved if there was a gun law.

There would be a lot less tragedies and killings if there were gun laws in the U.S. The law should be that only authorized people should be able to carry guns and if any unauthorized people want guns, then they will have to earn a gun permit in order to use one.
