The Most Important Years of Our Lives

Minarets High School
Dear Next President,
My name is Lucy Cummings. I am a senior at Minarets High School in O’Neals, California. It is located in the Sierra Foothills in the Central Valley. I have lived here for most of my life. I have been going to school with most of the same people since elementary school. After growing up in a small town I am more motivated to go out into the world and experience life and learn lessons outside of this community.
January 20th, 2017 is a monumental day in your life. You will never forget the day you are inaugurated. As graduating Seniors we have our whole lives ahead of us filled with monumental days. We will be experiencing a day we will never forget on June 7th, 2017, high school graduation. The upcoming years after we graduate from high school will fundamentally affect our future. After four years with the same people, we are finally on our way to experiencing new things and making new friends. In some ways we are in the same boat, starting a new chapter in our lives, learning important things that will affect our decisions, and pressure being put on us to not fail. Your job as President is different than seventeen and eighteen year olds starting their futures but you play a big role in our futures. It is our job to go to college and get an education and start our careers. It is your job to run America efficiently and effectively so we have the opportunities to be successful. If you are reelected for a second term, many of us will still be in the most important time of our lives. We are relying on you to keep the United States of America a powerhouse that so many others before you have made it.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Best of luck to you in your presidency.
Sincerely,
Lucy Cummings
