318.9 Million Waiting to be Heard

There are 318.9 million people waiting for you to listen, and speak up for the ones that cannot speak for themselves.

President of the United States

1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW

Washington, DC 20500

Dear POTUS:

There are 318.9 million people that live in the United States. With this many people populating the United States that means that there are 318.9 million voices waiting to be heard. Wanting and begging for you to notice that they have a voice, an opinion that they feel you need to hear. I am only one of these voices. When you are going to make a new law, or a decision I would like you to remember that you are the voice that speaks for the 318.9 million voices that are not being heard. You are a microphone, you speak for every single American. When you speak people listen, they seek for your attention. They go silent as soon as you open your mouth, you are powerful.

318.9 million people are expecting you to speak up for the ones that cannot speak for themselves. The ones who are too scared to show that they have a voice. They lean on you. Malala Yousafzai said “I speak not for myself but for those without voice... those who have fought for their rights... their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated.” I am asking that you remember what it was like to be afraid to speak up to show that you have a voice, and remember that there are 318.9 million people waiting for you to hear them. You speak for every single one of us, you are our microphone, demanding power when you speak. Before you make a decision remember that your decision affects every single one of 318.9 million people that populate the United States.
