Illegal Immigration

Reasons we must stop illegal immigration.

Dear Mr./Mrs. President

To the next President to the United States of America. In our beautiful land of the free we face many problems that threaten our way of life. Of these situations we find ourselves in, I see one that stands out from the rest. It not only takes away jobs from hard working American citizens, but it also brings thousands of drugs and criminals into our beautiful America. I’m of course talking about illegal immigration, and you must sign into better laws that stop this unfair practice to make sure America actually has American citizens living in it.

First, let me explain how these people are hurting the sum of us who are actually allowed to take place in the United States by means of employment. In America there is a total of 11.1 million immigrants taking shelter in the united states in 2014 alone with the number constantly increasing. There’s only one reason why so many of them have come to this country and that’s work. Since most illegal immigrants will work for less money than actual citizens, most businesses will be most likely to hire them than true american citizens. In fact, In California, an estimated 10% of the labor forces was illegal. Nevada and New Jersey were in second place with 9% of their workers being illegal. Those jobs could have gone to people who actually came here fairly or were born here, but instead they went to people who cheated their way into our country. What example would the government be setting if they let illegal immigrants keep taking the jobs that should belong to its own citizens.

However, you may say that illegal immigrants help the economy through their low labor pool and increasing money in circulation. To that, I might agree with you on some point, but let us not forget that these people aren’t taxpayers like the rest of us. That not only are they getting to stay here illegally, but they also don’t pay the simple taxes that fair citizens must pay to live here. We even lose 113 billion dollars, state and federal, because of their unfair practices.

Now that we’ve gotten the soft stuff out of the way, let's talk about how the drugs and crime they bring with them are actually killing Americans. To list a few examples let’s start with a 2005 report by the Governor’s Crime Commission that estimated that 22.2 percent of all gang members in North Carolina are Hispanic (with ethnicity unknown for another 19.4 percent). By contrast, Hispanics accounted for only 7 percent of total state population in 2004. If you thought that was bad, you won’t believe it when you hear that Federal investigators believe that as much as 2.2 million kilograms of cocaine and 11.6 kilograms of marijuana were smuggled into the United States via the Mexican border in 2005. These are the types of things that we need to stop in our own country. Crime and drugs are things we can’t have also coming from another country.

With all the facts I have presented to you Mr. or Mrs. President, you must now see that illegal immigration is a problem we must solve at all cost. Because we have failed to do something about it sooner, millions of American lives have been destroyed. Either left on the streets homeless, or killed because of the crime and drugs brought by the illegals. We have to do something now, or the problem we face is only going to get worse. With people who cheated their way here ending up on top, and the people of america left in the cold to die. Please help us by signing in laws that get rid of the people who don’t care what happens to our country as long as their lives are put in front of the actual people of the United States. If you don’t defend the rights of the American citizens, then who will.

Sincerely,

Colby L.
