Why you need to stop drug abuse

Reasons why the next President should stop drug abuse.

Dear, Mr or madam president

Imagine what it is like trying to stop using drugs you are addicted to it. Mr/madam president you must stop drug abuse because it affects more than 8% of the U.S, and drug abuse can put you in jail.

How could you let 8% of the population be affected by drugs and not do anything? That means 39,750,000 people are affected by drugs. You must stop drugs if you don’t that's 8% of the population that will have a hard time supporting themselves. All of the drugs will ruin the economy.

People say that they should just stop using drugs by themselves, but it isn’t that easy. Drugs change the way your brain functions and its structure, so that it is very hard to stop taking drugs. There is a treatment for drug abuse, but not everyone will get the treatment.

If you get caught with drugs you can be put in jail. Which means if everybody gets caught with drugs more than 8% of the people will be in jail. That means a lot of jails will be overfilled and then you have to build more jails. If you get put in jail it will ruin your life because whenever you get out it will be hard to get a job then their will be more homeless people.

Drug abuse will ruin your life and you don’t get another chance which is why you must stop drug abuse. If you don’t you will have 8% of the population with their life ruined. Most will be put in jail and no one wants that.

Sincerely, Trent S.
