Why we must fund the arts

persuasive letter to the next President opposing to fund the arts

Dear Mr/Madam President,

Imagine being without color, without music, without being able to expressing yourself, this is what our world is coming to. Mr/Madam President you need to fund the arts. With arts there will be stress lifted off of children, and learn new skills that impact your life and future. When you can do what you love it creates a happy environment, new friends, and a chance to be yourself.

School can be fun but also stressful. Class after class learning new stuff each day, trying to remember hours worth of new information, and then we have homework to top it all off. We spend most of our day at school or doing homework so there is not much time for after school activities. All this is very stressful and we need something to balance out all that hard work. This is why having one part of our day dedicated to having fun and not worrying about the homework due or the test that's coming up soon will relieve a lot of stress.

Why take the time and money to start funding the arts when some kids are still struggling to read and write, why wouldn't you spend the money on math tools and books for kids? Because sometimes kids can get discouraged to have good grades if they dont have arts. This makes their time learning all those things harder, and It's proven kids who have a type of art class get better grades and score higher on their standardized testing.

There are many skills you acquire in school including skills in math and writing, These are very important skills to have, but without arts there are tons of other skills just as important you won't have. For example arts will give you the skill of creativity, this will help you look at things in different perspectives and think outside the box. It will give you the skill of confidence and allow you to step out of your comfort zone.

Arts are very important to have in many different ways that will help children grow up to become more successful. You can make programs to raise money, get tools and materials, and take action. There is no time left there are kids right now not getting the education in arts they deserve. Congratulations on becoming the president of the United States of America, it comes with a lot of responsibility, and you have the power to change people's lives.

Sincerely, Becky H
