Dear Future President,
I want The United States of America to be able to have gun rights. I have heard in the news that the government wants to take away are 2nd Amendment which stated "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The American right to own a gun is guaranteed to us in the Bill of Rights and young men fight everyday to protect this right. Guns are necessary for personal security and hunting. Today, gun control is attempting to illegally tie our hands and will lead to more innocent bloodshed. We should make no apologies for backing a right explicitly stated in the Constitution.
As the great Thomas Jefferson said "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... only disarm those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one."
If you take away the right to guns from the american people you should take a way the guns of the US military.
