College Tuition is Unaffordable.
After 4 years of working hard in high school, I deserve to go to the college of my choice regardless of my family's economic standing.
Dear President,
My name is Luke and I am 16 years old. As a teenager who is going to be looking at colleges very soon, and deciding on what I want to do in life, I would like to discuss an issue with you that matters a lot to me. That is the prices of college tuition.
First of all, in my opinion, I think that the prices of colleges are way too high. Many other American families agree with me too, as they struggle to put their children through college. I think it shouldn't cost anyone to have a college education, especially now a days when a college degree is essential in getting a job to support yourself.
In the last 5 years, tuition fees have skyrocketed. For example, in the article “How The Cost Of College Went From Affordable To Sky-High” by Claudio Sanchez, it states that in Arizona, there was a 77% increase in costs. Georgia was 75%, and Washington was 70%. Because of this, many families are struggling. As college tuition fees increase, more and more people struggle with money.
I hope that one of your plans as the next president is to fix this. I hope that you help lower the prices of college, and maybe eventually, make college free for everyone. This will really help a lot of people, especially students who deserve the college education, but can't afford it.
Thank you for taking your time to read this letter. I really hope you take these ideas into consideration and act on it, as the next president of the United States.
Sincerely,
Luke
