Abortion
I am pro-choice
Dear Future President,
I am high school student in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I feel very stronly about abortion because I believe that all people should have a choice. Knowing how many people who have children and then put them up for adoption is upsetting. Most of the people who have abortions are teen who can't support them selves let alone a baby. Most teen who do keep that baby will most likely drop out of school. If you arent a teen then most of the time you are a single mom who don't have the time or money for a child either.
If you make abortion illegal people will just find other ways to get it done. Access to legal abortions prevents unsafe methods of getting it done them selves. In 1972 before abortion was legalized there 39 deaths from illegal abortions in the year alone. Did you know that abortion reduces crime rates? A study by Stephen D. Levitt a mother who can't get an abortion is more likely to rase a child who commits crimes apposed to a mother that chooses when she has her child. A women's risk of dying while having an abortion is less likely than the risk of dying while giving birth. Some statistics for this are 0.6 in 100,000 women are likely to die while having an abortion and the risk for dying while giving birth is 8.8 in 100,00. Each year 51,000 kids are given up for adoption in the united states alone.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my letter, and I hope you take this in to your opinion in the future; I am exited to see how you are going to further our country.
Sincerely,
Kaylla T.
