Animal Abuse
Abusing Animals is wrong and disgusting.
Dear future President,
Animal Abuse is an extremely gruesome monstrous occurrence. The laws for animal abuse are not severe enough. I feel we should make a change to these laws so people could stop performing these terrible acts.
The laws aren’t serious enough because if they were, you wouldn’t see people abusing animals anymore; fines are an easy $1,000 dollars. They need to be larger to get the message across. When you constantly neglect your dog by not feeding it, it cannot make food like us humans so it will most likely not eat then starve to death. If you neglect your animals by not feeding them, you are still abusing them. Animal cruelty can be either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Animals can not protect themselves like humans. Either way, and whether the animal is a pet, a farm animal or wildlife, the victim can suffer terribly. These laws are taken as a joke. Every second, animals are getting abused one way or another. There are approximately 70 million pet dogs and 74.1 million pet cats. If you were an animal would you want to be loved or abused? Treat animals how you want to be treated. Currently, the only animal abuse felony is dogfighting. I think all types and forms of animal abuse should be a felony. Every living thing that breathes has a heart, will you have one and help stop animal abuse?
I believe animal abuse laws should be more severe so people wouldn’t continue to abuse animals. Animal abuse is a terrible act that shouldn’t be taking place at all in this world. The laws surrounding it are not that great either. The laws are only a small fine of 1,000 dollars if you are caught. What if one isn’t caught? If they aren’t caught, then they won't pay for the horrible acts they have brought upon a living creature. I feel like laws should be more severe and have better consequences. These sick people do not care for these laws because if they did, then they would not commit the crimes that they are committing.
Sincerely,
Thomas
