Rape culture shows the ways in which society blames victims of sexual assault and normalizes male sexual violence. Also some people in the society make statements on how the rape culture is a phrase and it is out to get men. Rape culture is not a phase and it is not out to get men. We can see everyday examples of raped culture in the music we listen to, the injustice of rape cases in the courts, the victims not being taken seriously when they report rapes to their university campuses, 1-in-5 women and 1-in-71 men having reported experiencing rape and many more. Now looking at it I can see those people don't understand what a rape culture is and it would be helpful if one of our future presidents can start a conversation on rape culture and inform that it is real because by just doing that we are creating change in the awareness of it. A question that is asked is what expectations/stereotypes about gender and sexuality and power further the progress rape culture, and how can we challenging them? If we all together know the answer to this then all of us together can end the rape culture.
