Transgender Rights
This country needs to address the treatment of transgender individuals.
Dear Future President,
In the past couple years many issues have arisen concerning transgender people and their rights. Just earlier this year, on February 16, 2016, South Dakota passed a bill restricting transgender individuals to the bathrooms and locker rooms corresponding with the sex they were assigned at birth. There is a huge lack of understanding of the struggles of being transgender within the United States and as a result we are often mistreated.
I care so much about this issue I, myself, am transgender and it is already hard enough for me to feel comfortable in public.
