The problem with Social Media
Today in America we are to focused about Social Media
To the future President:
My name is Amanda and I live in Iowa.
I am writing to tell you about Social Media in our country. In the past years it has not been to big of a problem because technology was not so advanced then. But now it has become a big problem because of the lack of privacy we have. For example, if you send a pic of yourself or something on Snapchat and send it to someone, they can screenshot it and now it is in their hands and they the choice to do whatever to do with it.
In a society like this today, I feel like social media is all we care about. Everybody is worried about what they look like, how many followers they have, and the filters they use. And at the same time as all of this is happening, everybody is trying to tell everybody that they should not care what they look like, but nobody listens and goes back to their own lives.
As the future president you should take charge in this issue because technology is in the hands of all ages. You need to work harder on setting more privacy levels on our social media for everyone. You also should consider putting a limit to some social media apps and the things people can chose to put on there.
As a Christian it is hard in a society like this today to not fall for the things of the world. But I just have to try and remember that God doesn’t care about the stuff on the outside or what other people think of us but if we are being the best we can for God and doing the things we can to the best of our ability’s, not others. 1 Peter 3:3-4 says, Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’ sight.
It doesn’t matter what you look like as long as you are more focused on your inner self and what actually should matter to you. We need to make sure that everything we do is not for just ourselves but for others so. If you do that, others will see and hopefully do the same.
Sincerely,
Amanda
