Police Brutality

Police brutality have always been here but recently it has gotten out of hand. Innocent people are dying in the hands of police who use their badge as an excuse to kill, yet a small amount of cops been charged.

Dear Next President,

Congratulations on your win it must be a really good accomplishment but before all this there has been a major problem in the US. with all the police brutality, and police killing innocent people specially towards minority groups. I think they should face criminal charges.

Police brutality have always been here but recently it has gotten out of hand. Innocent people are dying in the hands of police who use their badge as an excuse to kill, yet a small amount of cops been charged. According to Huffingpost.com “Only about 20 percent of the officers arrested are ever convicted of murder or manslaughter.”

I think a solution would be to train police officers so they are better at controlling situations or life threatening situations. I also think they should have the cameras on at all times and if they shut them off or cover them for some reason they face consequences.

I haven’t had any problems with the police but I see it everywhere in the news, the newspaper, social media, and people talk about it at school.

In minnesota something happen recently with Philando Castile who was shot in front of his daughter and his wife. The wife recorded everything via ‘Facebook live’. The police officers supposedly said he looked like a “suspect.” The officer told him to take out his license but it was in his wallet then he let the police officer he was carrying (gun) but he had a license, then Philando reached for his wallet and the police officer shot him for no reason, the police officer asked for the license why would he feel his life is in danger?

According to Theguardian.com so far in 2016 there has been 824 people killed by the police. Also according to Theguardian.com during 2015-2016 358 unarmed people were killed by the police. The copcrisis.com said there was 1,307 of people killed by police.

This is why I think police officer should get more training on how to control this kind of situation. If they shoot or kill anyone they should face consequences depending on the case or the victim. It’s ridiculous how innocent people are being killed. Thanks president and once again congratulations.
