Dyslexia
We need to find new programs for dyslexia.
October 11, 2016
Dear Future President,
I am a student with dyslexia and I feel like a lot of schools; including mine, do not have the money, funding, or awareness to support kids with dyslexia and also the government may not recognize this difficulty in learning. I am proposing a better educational program supported by Susan Barton, which is a reading program that helps kid with dyslexia. I am a right hand witness to this program. I have been through this reading program and it has helped me in many ways to overcome this difficulty in my life.
One in every five kids has dyslexia. "As they move through elementary school, problems can get worse as reading becomes more important to learning. Kids who have difficulty often avoid reading because it's hard or stressful. As a result, they end up missing out on valuable reading practice and falling further behind their classmates."
As the future President, I would like you to talk to the government and have them consider recognizing dyslexia as a real problem and start thinking about better programs, more programs and more support for the kids.
Sincerely,
Jack A. Dougherty
