Pollution

Could the president help inform people on the matter of pollution and how our future may be endanger because of what we today are doing.

Dear Future President,

I want to address the fact that although we have set up certain acts to help, pollution is still a problem. A lot of people don’t care about the things they're doing to the Earth. The effects of the pollution and what we and companies are doing today could lead to an unpleasant future to the health of people, animals, and to the environment.

The pollution in air or water can lead to many health effects. The toxins in the air can cause people to get irritated skin and itchy eyes, but what can be worse is when the air makes you have trouble breathing. Asthma can be medicated, except things like emphysema and chronic bronchitis, which can not (http://www.fitday.com/). Lead in water is another problem. It can create problems with the blood. So, it would be helpful if we could have ways to clean the water from it. There is a water filter called brita that helps a little.

On the other hand, animal have lately been having trouble finding food and fish have been struggling at schooling (spawning new fish) because of mercury. (http://www.nwf.org/). Sea animals are being killed because of trash, oil, and high water temperature. Down in the area where the Rio olympics were to take place, there were tons of dead fish because of the water being to warm.

Companies do not really care for the environment because of the profit from the goods. Trash from landfills can get into the ocean if the trash escapes and cargo from ships could fall off of ships (http://www.worldwildlife.org/). Then you have pollution from smokestacks because the gas and fumes from the burning fossil fuels. Vents have been made, but they don’t work that well. Another thing that happens in companies is light pollution which can affect human’s and animal’s circadian rhythm.

In the world, there are people helping making the Earth better. Yet we need your help to somehow have the public care about pollution. A lot of the adults don’t pay attention because most of the time they are busy in their lives doing things. One place I know every once in awhile inform kids is Disney Channel. I hope that you take in consideration to somehow show people to care and help enforce the law to take care of our environment. If everyone chose to continue hurting the Earth, we would be living in a dead wasteland of garbage, like in the movie WALL-E. But if we change, the world would be a better place to live in.

                                                                                                                   Sincerely,

                                                                                                                   Brianna Pirwitz
