Nobody's The Same (get over it)
This letter is about police brutality and Inequality toward Blacks and Latinos
Dear President,
There is a specific issue that I want to discuss with you and that is racism. Surely You should think that there has been too much of that in our history. This shouldn’t be an issue anymore since the Civil Rights Movements was solved in 2013. Sure, that wasn’t that long ago (3 Years Ago) but racism should not be that big of an issue anymore, it should be over with and solved.
According to DoSomething.org, police brutality toward Blacks and Latinos is 80 percent likely in big cities like New York City, NY; which is completely understandable because there are lots of different personalities in a place as big as that, but it should NOT be like that, especially with the Police. Also according to DoSomething.org, in 2009, 75 percent of the criminals in the Big Apple (New York City) who are getting life sentences are Blacks. This might just be because the people are making bad mistakes but maybe it’s because the judges of the trial are racist or the police arresting people are. If that is the case then we have a problem on our hands.
According to Independent Journal Review, the rate of pro-segregation white household owners has decreased by 20 Percent since 1957. Which is both bad and good. It is good because that means our nation has gotten better on the racism Issue. It is Bad because 20% is not much considering that 1957 was 53 years ago. Also according to Independent Journal Review, now 27 Percent of the unemployed are Blacks and Latinos. This is wrong because that is just because some employers are racist to Blacks and Latinos, that should not be the case because the Black race should get some slack after all these years of bondage.
According to Pew Research Center, on the Issue of the Black Lives Matter Movement, 41 out of 65 Africans strongly support the movement and its mission. While the movement is a good thing, we shouldn’t need an organization like this. We should have a lot less police brutality toward Blacks and people shouldn’t have to worry about getting arrested because of the color of their skin.
In conclusion, there is too much racism in this country between Whites and Blacks and I suggest you to fix it before there is a fourth Ku Klux Klan.
