Syrian Refugees Must Be Helped

Syrian refugees face incredulous terror, and some discrimination from radical Islamic groups. Free life is an unknown subject in this nation which brings them into our nation. We are known as a safe haven for many immigrants, where opportunity is simple ideology here. We must help the innocent lives of the Syrians.

Dear Future President,

The Syrian Refugee crisis, as noted by the United Nations, has “become too complex in the contemporary Western World,” and it is your job to help those in need. The United States is highly considered around the world as an important superpower, who is not helping with the influx of refugees. Our nation and its powerful government must do something to allow them into our nation, and help them escape cruel punishments and terrorism. For example, some gay rights activists explained that, “gays are facing increasing threats there.” It is the 21st century, and to know that there are still nations who do not accept these humans is just plain awful.

We are missing opportunities on intelligent humans who could help our country and its economical standpoint. Ann Richard, assistant secretary of state population, stated on The Washington Post, “Refugees tend to be very successful once they get to the U.S.” My father being an immigrant, I know he is one of the top management positions of his high-tech company. This goes to prove that some of those refugees could really help tend the U.S. economy by applying skills of their own. This could range from a variety of skill areas such as food franchises, by using recipes that are unknown in the U.S., or an incredibly clever programmer. We never know when we missed a person who could have helped us in our current financial crisis. If the United States is really considered the safe haven for immigrant, why would we be declining them entrance to the country? The situation used to be worse, as Hillary Clinton recently allowed an influx of these refugees, but presidential candidate Donald Trump and other political leaders, have embroiled in the conflict. We are a growing nation, at about 350 million people now, of an enormous variety of different races, who have raised to the image of “wealthy” in the contemporary western world.

The main cause of this issue is the extreme terroristic clans in the fleeing nations. Some of the groups that are oppressing their own are ISIS and Taliban. They force their ideas, mainly on young children for influential reasons, to direct citizens against harmless people who have done nothing to receive the hatred and terror. Police and protective services are already extremely corrupt, so they do nothing to help, and do not fulfill their duties. Alex Benjamin from CNN Wire explained the horrors he is facing in his home country due to his identification as a homosexual. “Police are doing nothing… because he is Syrian and because he is gay.” There are still nations, like Syria who still suffer from these primitive ideas, which have been abandoned by many European and American nations. Pointless attacks are being taken on others as a friend of Alex explained how, “Wisam had been stabbed 20 times, his organs were removed and he had been beheaded...”

Some politicians believe that spending, “5.6 billion dollars in humanitarian aid,” is completely foolish for our economy. Contrary to this belief, we are not the only nation in the world spending high amounts of money on the conflict. Germany has spent a couple billion dollars as well, and this does not exclude the other nations helping out. The UN is very constructive in having most of the western world conserve some of their economy for the better use of humanitarian aid.

The U.S. is an extremely powerful force in the world with the strongest economy and military. Not using these gifts would be extremely ignorant to not help the Syrian refugees. Overall, we must use the power of our own, and apply it to Syria’s crisis by allowing certain amounts of refugees into our country.
