Guns, Why we Should do Something About Them

Reasons why we should make stricter gun control.

Mr, or Madam, President,

Twenty children perished in Sandy Hook on December 4, 2012, but in this year of 2016, more than 586 kids died. When you read this letter I want you to know that guns are a big problem in the U.S. People are being killed or injured intentionally, or accidentally every day in suicides and massacres. Terrorist, who are already in the country, use guns to kill people efficiently every day. You need to stop this, because the truth is, it is becoming normal and ordinary in the U.S. You need to restrict guns and enforce gun laws, so that America can become a safer country. Like “It’s a necessity to enforce stricter gun laws, to save the lives of the innocent.” or something like that.

People die because of guns everyday. One study shows that Americans are 10 times more likely to die of guns than any other country in the world. This country needs to change. America does not have to be that one country where everyone dies because of unenforced gun laws. You might think that the statement is an exaggeration, but in average, 36 people die everyday because of guns. In reality things like Sandy Hook bring national attention, when someone gets shot and killed everyday and goes unnoticed. This has to be stopped. Americans die every day, and someone needs to take action.

Likewise, terrorism has not been unnoticed, and needs to stop too. Terrorist don’t use guns because it’s scarier, they use guns because it’s an efficient way to kill people. Guns are made to efficiently kill and that is why terrorists use them. There shouldn't be guns that are able to kill multiple lives in and under minutes. These types of guns should be banned from the public, for the safety of the people. Handguns and hunting guns should be legal ,and allowed for public because the people do not (and should not) have a use for guns to kill people, but to shoot game and self defense.

In conclusion Mr, or Madam, President, banning guns is completely unconstitutional “...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” and I am not asking for that. The American people not only want, but need you to stop this crisis, before it becomes out-of-hand. Afterall, America is a sanctuary, not a shooting range.

From,
