Stopping Drug Abuse In The USA
If there was a world where no one would overdose and no one would ever do drugs. It would be the perfect world because no one would be making regretful decisions. People always judge one another for making decisions all the time. What if that was not around anymore.
It is important to take prescription drugs and take them with the correct amount. People always think that it will not hurt them to take drugs and it will help them. In only some cases it is okay to take drugs if they are prescribed to you. In our world today we have to many problems stacked on each other. “Abuse of tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs is costly to our Nation, exacting more than $700 billion.
Annually in costs related to crime, lost work productivity and health care.” It is not even just in our country that it is a problem it is a problem in all of the world. We can fix this by producing less drugs and strengthening the income in the U.S.A. Pretty much everywhere and it is not a good thing at all. This drug overdose is being put on the news and is making people around the world want to do drugs as well. Marijuana is the most commonly used drug in the United States of America. “As with most other chronic diseases, such as diabetes, asthma, or heart disease, treatment for drug addiction generally isn’t a cure.” It is not a good thing in the United States Of America to have these numbers and for this to continue in our country. “80 to 90 percent of individuals who could benefit from treatment are not getting it. Celebrities who can pay vast sums for private treatment programs should not be the only ones able to enter them.”In reality, drug addiction is a complex disease, and quitting usually takes more than good intentions or a strong will. “The Affordable Care Act requires as an essential service element coverage and parity for mental health and substance use disorders, meaning that insurance benefits for addiction must be equivalent to any other covered general medical condition.” Drugs change the brain in ways that make quitting hard, even for those who want to.
Drug abuse is rife in many countries. Billions of dollars are spent internationally preventing drug use, treating addicts, and fighting drug-related crime. “Although drugs threaten many societies, their effects can also be combated successfully.” People use drugs because it makes them feel better and makes them feel like they are doing something good for themselves. In a way it helps them mentally ,but ruins you physically. “The drug cost $84,000 for 12 weeks. The steep price and stampede of patients to get the drug led many insurers to pay for the drug only for the sickest patients.” People all the time say never do drugs because it is bad for you. Which is very true but at the same time it has allowed people to be cured from cancer and other major diseases.
People really do think that humans do drugs just because they are stupid or dumb and don't have a place in this world. In reality people do drugs because they have nothing else in their life and have no family and friends to help them.
If you have what you have right now treasure it because you might not have it in the future. This is why people struggle so much in their life. They make the wrong choices because they don’t have that one special person there for them.
