Current Time Studies

We should have a class, open to public schools, teach us about what's going on in the present.

Dear Future Presedent,

As we are in a new age and new things are happening around us, why don't we have a class, open to public schools, that teaches us about what's going on now, as knowing what George Washington did during the Revolutionary War won't help me change today.

So now I ask you, why don't we have this class? With the ever-evolving tech and new people coming to fame, I feel the need to learn about these things as it could greatly influence my creativity and my understanding of the world today.

If students had knowledge of what will happen now and what has happened recently, then maybe they will be able to come up with revolutionary ideas that have been influenced by these recent discoveries and tech.

It has been proven by studies that students who use newspapers tend to score higher on standardized achievement tests particularly in reading, math, and social studies -- than those who don't use them.

An NCES study shows that students who take classes in school that relate to the knowkedge of government, political news, or international problems, usually show a heavier intrest in current events outside of school. With that grown intrest, they can study more on topics that'd grow our economic society, our political body, and our government social structure.

So maybe if we allow the studies of what's going on today, then we'll be able to have a better tomorrow.

Sincerely,

       Liam G.
