No More GMOs
Dear Future President, Hi, I'm Ali R. I Attend The Birch School in Rock Tavern, NY. I'd like to talk to you about the problems of GMOs or Genetically Modified Organisms which is the result of a laboratory process where genes from the DNA of one species are extracted and artificially forced into the genes of an unrelated plant or animal. The foreign genes may come from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals or even humans. You can find these in pretty much everything unless it says Non-GMO or NON-GMO Project Certified. GMOs cause cancer and other diseases. It is also true that the government gets paid to allow the Genetically Modified food and that we should pass a law that doesn't allow GMOs because in other countries such as Europe they are banned and they have less health problems and that is most likely because GMOs are banned in Europe. Overall I believe GMOs should be banned because they are not good for our health and people will have less health problems which equals less money spent on health problems which means less debt .So we should pass a law that bans GMOs. Or we could create a law that makes all GMO products have a label that say that they are GMOs so people are more aware of what they are eating. Sincerely, Ali R.
