Dear President,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Tensions are getting higher. Terrorists are sending suicide bombers and going for innocent people. Across the world, we see terrorist organizations trying to recruit young men and kids, all while gaining land and territory, where they train and produce propaganda. As an American, it’s been my dream to serve for my country, but with the upcoming election I have a lot of issues I disagree with. As commander of chief the president has the power to command U.S. military. As terrorist groups get bigger the chance of a war is getting higher. When there is a war in another country we send troops and that's something I greatly disagree with. Why should we send our troops to a death bed? They get traumatized and get post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) when sent to other countries because they see things that can't be unseen, the bodies of your enemies, the pain a fellow brother might be going through and yet, we see nothing done for all those veterans that have done so much for us.ISIS is killing innocent people and they are instigating other to do horrible actions in their name. All while recruiting young men and kids to fight for their cause. They use propaganda to recruit these people that later go and fight for an unreal cause. “The terror group already control huge areas in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya and Nigeria and are moving into parts of Asia and Siberia. They are believed to have an army consisting of at least 200,000 men - eight times bigger than foreign intelligence previously estimated, according to a senior Kurdish leader”(Tom Batchelor). ISIS is getting bigger and they are gaining land. Although people argue that it's their job to fight for whatever our country needs. We can't just abuse our military they have families and friends also because it's wrong. Like others our service members have relatives that care for them and wish them the best of luck when we think about send these troops to other countries to fight a war. When sending troops into foreign countries we are sending them to a death bed or to a place where they technically have to fight for survival they are not safe whether it be ambushes, Suicide bombers, or gunfights. They live day to day wanting their service to end. When they come back they are not the same they still have to battle P.T.S.D. Fireworks aren't as fun, loud noises remind them of the things they have seen. For some people, it’s too much to handle “an average of 20 veterans died from suicide every day in 2014.” (ABC). A lot of men and women aren't strong enough to fight the urge to commit suicide they rather end it. The images of the lives they have taken away is too much. To prevent more veterans lives taken away by them self. I plan to join the U.S. military to be specific the Marine Corps. The slogan “ The few the proud haunts my mind like an annoying song that i can't forget. While thinking of the marine corps i also think of the future that awaits being told what to do without a say. If you disobey you get charged with treason and punished for not following orders. The future presidents has the power to persuade congress not to start a war or send our troops to other countries. the Constitution grants the Congress the power to declare war, in Article 1, Section 8. This power is not shared with anyone, including the President. The President, however, is the Commander in Chief of all of the armed forces, in Article 2, Section 2. We able American people should do more for the people that are fighting for us. The next president should make programs to reintegrate veterans into the civilian world. These programs should teach them how to cope with all the stresses they would find in the outside world such as the stresses listed above. The future president should also have a plan to deal with foreign countries, this plan should involve less troops in foreign soil. That way we can decrease the amount of veterans dealing with stress.
