The Non-Human Killa

As the next president, you should do something to stop or reduce the amount of drug trafficking in the United States.

Dear Future President,

Every day, more than 1,500 people die from substance and drug abuse. Drug abuse also removes from people their judgment, which can lead to more fights and killing. The primary source for drugs in the United States is drug trafficking. As the next president, you should do something to stop or reduce the amount of drug trafficking in the United States.

The drug trafficking industry makes from $200 to $750 billion annually. This insane amount of profit comes from selling drugs like crack and powder cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin. Although crack and weed have become less popular over the last decade, meth has grown significantly in popularity. Another important fact is that most of the drugs or chemicals used to create the drugs come from Mexico. For example, most weed is grown in Mexico, and the chemicals used in cooking meth also originate in Mexico. Cocaine is shipped from South America, and opiates come from Asia. Another way drugs are sold is on the internet. In this day and age, it’s actually possible to buy illegal drugs over the deep web. An example of this is the Silk Road, which was a website on the dark web which sold illegal drugs from China. In the two years it existed before the FBI shut it down, it had sold over $1.2 billion in drugs.

As the new president, it’s your responsibility to do something about this issue. One thing you could do is attempt to shut down the Mexican Cartels which run most of the drug trafficking in the U.S. Cartels also own the labs in the country that produce meth. Getting rid of cartels would also get rid of most of the trafficking. Another thing you could do is monitor the internet for drug selling websites, since they are also a major source of the drugs. People will say that controlling and getting rid of Cartels is a hard and dangerous task- and they are right. But if our police force can attack unarmed individuals, we should definitely be able to control a few Mexican gangs.

Drug abuse affects hundreds of thousands of people each year. If we can reduce drug trafficking, we can reduce the amount of death and violence caused by drugs. As the next president, you have the responsibility to take care of these issues.

Sincerely,

Daniel K.
