Keep immigrant families together

There are many immigrant children who at a young age are living without their family because their parents are undocumented immigrants. It affects their child's life and also the whole U.S.

Dear President,

I am immigrant and I feel strongly about child immigrants and families. There are some people who want to deport undocumented immigrants but I think this is bad because it would affect children and our whole country. I believe that you should keep immigrant families together and not separate them with deportation because immigrants are here to help the U.S., not hurt it.

According to Tim Johnson, in an article called “Central America turmoil may be the cause of child migrant surge,” when the government forces an immigrant to move back to their home country then it might be a problem for their children. If the children are at a young age, when they grow up then they might not focus on their education. And it might affect the whole U.S.

Undocumented children who are in the United States need to finish school and get higher education so they can get good jobs. “For a factory job in Guatemala, people need school certificates, he said. I only completed second grade. So it’s difficult for me to get those jobs” (Johnson, 2015). This is important because they need support from their family to graduate after then they will get higher education so they can get better in a good place.

I believe that you should keep immigrant families together and not separate them with deportation because immigrants are here to help the U.S., not hurt it. Please will you help the undocumented immigrants who want to stay here with their families? If you learn about these people, you might help them be together.

Sincerely,

S.R.
