Technology in the classroom
The federal government should fund technology in the classroom.
Dear Future President of The United States of America,
Imagine a world where every single classroom had access to the internet and had computers! “Technology establishes curriculum standards for technology to ensure that students achieve a certain level of competency before they graduate.”(CoSN) The Federal government should put aside some of the taxes that they collect to fund more technology in the classroom.
Technology these days is pretty important, so we should start teaching students how to use different applications and functions of computers. “One study says it’s good to allow the students to use technology because that is a big part of the 21st Century.” (Koba, Mark.) Imagine a place where every single school in the world had enough funds to get computers for the children so they can choose a computer career.
Another reason why the federal government should fund school districts with technology and internet access is because, “Familiarity with technology has a direct relationship with the opportunities available to a person.”(Kristen Hicks Edudemic) Teaching kids how to type, and other computer tools and methods from an early age helps children to be successful in the 21st Century. Also digital literacy is a crucial part of life nowadays.
One last reason why the government should fund technology in the classroom is because technology in the classroom makes learning a little more fun. That is because learning through a computer is more hands on so children understand what is taught in the class better. “Learning to use the internet to research, using professional collaborative tools, sharing and constructively doing projects online will help these kids in the 21st Century.”
(The New York Times. Richtel, Matt.)
In conclusion, I believe that the Federal government should put aside some of the taxes that they collect to fund more technology in the classroom. It’s a good thing thing to expose technology to kids when they are young so they can invent new innovations when they apply STEM to their careers-all because of technology in the classroom.
