Foster Care
The Foster Care system is broken.
Dear future President,
Innapropriate foster care placement is not safe for children. Some children have been misplaced and have suffered. Children do not deserve bad treatment or abuse in their home.
In September 2014 there has been 650,000 children in the system. More than 20,000 of these children never get adopted and some commit suicide before they reach 18. Those who do get adopted are very lucky. Some stay in one home for a long time and others bounce around and can be unhealthy for them. Innapropriate foster care placements lead to a higher incidence of abuse.
We do not know what they have been through, their experiences, but we can help them. Everyone deserves a family and to be happy.
Sincerely,
Yashley Romero
