Gun Control
An article about how we need more gun control laws, and reasons why we need them.
Many people have been affected by gun violence, is there a way to stop it?
12,439 people have died from gun violence, 25,761 people have gotten injured from gun violence. Is there a way to lower these numbers?
America needs more gun control because civilians are getting killed and criminals are having easy access to dangerous weapons. Civilians are getting killed because untrained people have the power of a deadly weapon. On November 2, 2013, early in the morning, a 19 year old girl had a car crash. Theodore Wafer, thinking this girl was an intruder, killed her with his shotgun. (Deflippis and Hughes) On September 21, 2014 Eusebio Christian wakes up to a noise. He goes to the kitchen and starts shooting, all shots but one missed, which killed his wife. (Deflippis and Hughes)
Criminals have easy access to dangerous weapons because gun laws are too relax. “Its not organized crime, its kids on the street selling or trading guns.” -Andrea Davis, Tampa spokeswoman (Behrman) Investigators found 583 guns on the street, 527 of the guns got recovered. (Behrman)
Guns shouldn’t be so controlled in America because they can help people too. If there was an actual criminal in the house, the guns may help the homeowner protect them.
Many people are getting killed because of both civillian and criminal hands.
