Dear Future President,

I am bringing smoking to your attention because it is a serious problem in America and all around the world. Nearly 15% of Americans smoke regularly. That might seem like a small number, but it is actually a lot of people harming their lives. An estimated 159,292 people are expected to die because of lung cancer. This problem needs to be stopped.

About 15 billion packs of cigarettes get sold each day. Innocent bystanders can get sick or harmed from being around smokers. Every time I see someone smoking something tells me to go over there and tell them to stop.

I hope now that you have become president you will ban smoking. It hurts to see people throwing their lives away because of an addiction.          I, and many other people, are counting on you.
