Dear Future President
Police brutality is a huge problem in the US. Many people dislike this common issue. Police brutality seem to be mainly against black americans. Blacks shouldn’t have to worry about police. They should feel safe more than worried about police watching over our streets. People shouldn’t have to protest about the things that should already be done, when police get behind that badge it’s to protect us not to kill us. This issue need to be over and done with.
Most people may feel like it’s the old days when blacks use to get beat or kilt for no reason. Some people are just starting to realize that these injustices against blacks occur often in our community, while others are well aware. Nearly 1 in 3 black people killed by police in 2015 were identified as unarmed, though the actual number is likely higher due to underreporting. Unarmed black people were killed at 5x the rate of unarmed whites in 2015. Only 10 of the 102 cases in 2015 where an unarmed black person was killed by police resulted in officer(s) being charged with a crime, and only 2 of these deaths (Matthew Ajibade and Eric Harris) resulted in convictions of officers involved (mpv).
People feel that this issue is dealing with racism. Our country should not have to deal with racism anymore, especially with racist police. The government let them have too much power. If you kill anyone I don’t care who it is, you shouldn't be still out here serving these streets. I hope that the future President can/will change this for our country.
