FIX Gun Laws

Gun laws need to be more strict, buyback program and guns should be harder to get.

Dear Future President,

Gun laws need to be draconian because more people are withering because of them. We should also step up the Buyback Program. And finally, Guns should be harder to get if you have things on your record.

The US has the most guns per person in the world which means it has the highest number of death rates. The US has nearly six times the gun homicide rate as Canada, more than seven times as Sweden, and nearly 16 times as Germany, according to UN data compiled by the Guardian. Also per 100 people 88.8 of them own a firearm.

We should do a “Buyback” program. Basically what we do is buy the guns from the people to protect the guns for them. Australia did it and Australia's firearm homicide rate discarded by about 42 percent in the seven years after the law passed, and it's firearm suicide rate prostrated by 57 percent, according to one review of the evidence by Harvard researchers. Also, While 13 gun massacres (the killing of 4 or more people at one time) occurred in Australia in the 18 years before the Australian gun control law, resulting in more than one hundred deaths, in the 14 following years (and up to the present), there were no gun carnegies."

Finally, guns should be harder to get if you have things on your record. Because an extraordinary amount of mass shooters (up to 60 percent) have some kind of psychiatric or psychological symptoms, Metzl points out that other factors are much better predictors of gun violence: substance abuse, poverty, history of violence, and, yes, access to guns. For Example, If I have things on my record then it should be harder to get a gun by going through more paperwork and a diminished leash. There are anywhere from a dozen to a few hundred mass shootings in the US each year.

These are only a few complications and solutions in the US right now. Increased amounts of people are languishing every day if we don’t act fast. There have been so many shootings lately that all of it is unnecessary. Gun laws have to be more strict so people don’t get innocently killed. So stop the gun brutality and make this country safe for all of us.
