Letter to the President
Police Brutality
Dear future President,
Hello my name is Jasmine Hughes and I am an AHA senior from Berkeley High School. It's in my deepest concern to bring the attention to you about a dentrimental issue we face in this world so that you as our President can help us defeat this issue. We as African Americans has had generations and generations of ancestor who has helped build this country with their bare hands. We've even had many people like Martin Luther King jr and Rosa Parks who put their life on the line to make sure we don't suffer anymore from racial discrimination. We were even given the chance to witness having our first black president in the office. I can't seem to understand why we are taking steps back by discriminating and killing people of color. In 2015, there were over 1,000 deaths of African Americans due to the hands of police officers. This just doesn't make sense at all so if our lives do matter to you then you would stand with us to make that change and end police brutality.
