Terrorism Affecting the U.S. Economy
Terrorism is a major problem in the U.S. and there might be a few ways to prevent it.
Dear Mr. or Mrs.
When it comes to terrorism, I ponder, what horrific event might happen next?
Terrorism in the U.S. will affect the U.S.’ global economy because of all the horrific events that happened in the past such as 9/11 and the Marathon in Boston.
The 9/11 attack was a terrorism-based event that terrorists planned. This affected the U.S. because the twin towers were two major buildings that helped the U.S. in trading around the world. After the towers went down, the stock market went down and the U.S. suffered a(n) money collapse.
In 2001, the Towers came down September 11. Two airliners were hijacked and dove into the towers. The complex that was around the towers were destroyed or severely damaged by all the debris from the towers. This situation costed hundreds of millions to fix. The plane was a Boeing 737 and was going around 600 mph when it hit the tower(s). The construction of the tower(s) started August 25, 1966 and was opened on April 4, 1973. The area of the towers was a total of 16 acres and was part of an 8 building complex.
To start, The Boston Marathon was a terrorist-plan build idea and was a big effect in Boston because 3 people were found dead and 264 injured and the cooker-bomb was a major part of the destruction to the city. This incident was also a big threat to the U.S. because the terrorist said they were planning to bomb Times Square in NY City. After the cooker bombs went off, there was a shooting relevant to the marathon.
On April 15, 2013, (2:49pm) two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon near the finish line that was placed 210 yards away from each other. The explosion killed 3 people and injured 264 people. The two suspects, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were suspects for killing a(n) MIT policeman, carjacking a SUV, and exchanging fire between the police in an nearby water town. A policeman was badly injured but survived with severe blood loss and a other Boston policeman was badly injured and died from his wounds a year later. After being shot a couple of times in the police fire, Tamerlan was killed after being run over by the SUV that his brother drove to escape.
But, others disagree of not being able to build bombs and use them for their needs. This will put an affect because there might be riots in the streets.
The evidence that I have shown discussed about The Boston Marathon and the Twin Towers. Terrorism is one of the many problems for the U.S. of how people are killed. But, I think there might be a way to reduce the amount of terrorism that is and will be happening later. I am proposing of having background checks for every U.S. citizen and based on their records, allow what they are and aren't allowed to buy. Also, suspecting and asking questions to people who look suspicious. Terrorism is still going to happen in the U.S, and we can’t stop that from happening. But, if we try, we might be able to prevent it from happening.
To end, Terrorism is one of the major causes of death in the U.S. Before you turn down this proposal that I have made, I want you to think about this. We are never safe. Nobody can protect us from what is happening in the world. For me, personally, I ponder, “What horrific event might happen next? Will I be that person in that situation?”
