Dear Next President,
My name is Yuritzia Peraza, and I am a student at West Albany High School. I am a junior and will be graduating with the class of 2018. My goals in the future are to get a minor in the medical field as an obstetrician and major in medical terminology. Many of my goals will have some obstacles, but I know that I want to improve and help to make a difference in this country, especially with the rights of every human being that I will be assisting as an obstetrician. I believe that all the people have the right to live, the right to choose their own paths, and the right to make the right decisions with the help of this country. My obstetrician path will lead me to many different cases with various patients. The path that I mostly disagree on is abortion, and it must not be legal in the United States.
Abortion is occurring all over the world more often. There are certain plausible reasons why women have abortions. However, women are still taking away the life and rights of a child. After or before an abortion, women suffer from psychological disorders. Most importantly and more discussed, abortion is against the bible. There are many reasons why abortion should never be legal.
There are several psychological disorders that women suffer before and after abortions. Regret is one of the obstacles that they will never get rid of for the rest of their lives. They will never be able to take anything back no matter how much they desire and life will never be the same. After regret comes sadness; they have an emptiness in their hearts and in their homes. Sadness can always lead to depression. Depression is a bad scenario that a woman can reach because not only is she affected but so is everyone around her. This can lead to suicide. I think that these things should never happen in the United States. We should be protecting women and leading them to a right path that is healthy to their future lives. Women make these mistakes in their five senses which means they are fully aware of what they are doing. We should not be encouraging them to do such an irresponsible act.
In the Declaration of Independence, it states that everybody has the pursuit of life and happiness. Legalizing abortion is the complete opposite of the pursuit of life and happiness because the baby is not having any human rights at all. Babies are alive on conception; scientists have proven that an organism is still alive once it is at conception in their mother's womb. Since this has been proven, this means that we are committing murder. Legalizing something that is already illegal makes us even more insecure in protecting someone's rights instead of trying to make the right option that is legal for a woman to choose.
One of the major conflicts with legalizing abortion today comes from religion. Nowhere in the Bible does it state that aborting a child is wrong. Yet the Bible clearly states that these things are wrong. The sixth commandment states You Shall Not Murder. When we speak to our nation about the tens of millions of children ripped apart by abortion, we challenge them to realize how many people were killed in the holocaust. One of the ways that we lead them there is by the meaning and purpose of human life. The Bible teaches us that human life is different from other types of life because human beings are being made by the very image of God. Children in the womb have a truly personal relationship with God because they are made in the image of God. Children are a blessing to this world; there are millions of people desiring to have children but they can't because women choose to kill them before they are born. Life will always be victorious over death. We can help so many people by not doing abortion in this world, letting the child have its own rights because even one person can make a change in this world. Let's not let abortion happen in a nation as beautiful as this one.
Abortion should never be an option and is the most irresponsible thing anyone can do. This act makes us all look weak because it proves how many women are not accepting responsibility in this nation. There are many other healthy options that we can help women choose that have nothing to do with killing a child. There is adoption; many people are in depression right now because they can't make a family or they feel lonely. Reach out to the father of the child; he or his family may be able to prevent you from committing an abortion. Other than that abortion is a crime, it is also very dangerous for the mother. Many clinics are not sanitary enough to commit such an act that has been happening millions of times in a single room. Then it could lead to many other health problems in the future. We need to change the hearts of those people promoting the genocide of our nation by making abortion illegal once more in the United States.
